Không Gì Quý Hơn

The title of this experimental performance and film, is derived from Hồ Chí Minh’s saying Không Có Gì Quý Hơn Độc Lập và Tự Do (Nothing is more precious than Independence and Freedom). Through adapting a part of this phrase, I am questioning my relationship to my heritage while I locate myself within the United States. I am reflecting on the things that are precious to me. By projecting my home videos and archival Vietnam war footage, I am exposing my own desires and those of my people. However, this act of exposing is a disruption of the western landscape. The videos confront the buildings and interior designs to reflect these tragedies that their people have caused to those in Vietnam.
