Inspired by El, Muro: The Wall by Eduardo Hernández Santos, Here explores the construde gaze and perception that the Western world has about Vietnamese people. Using found images as well as appropriating images from other Vietnamese youth, and accompanied by Richard Nixon’s speech about Vietnam and the war. The translation of the speech gears these words towards Vietnamese people, and remove the context of the Western gaze. This book redirects what is presented and alters the knowledge that people believe they know.
